You may have noticed something slightly unusual around hereβ¦
Nothing much has happened on the website for about two months. π³
No, we haven’t disappeared.
No, the Dutch have not invaded Belgium again.
And no, we haven’t all gone to Amsterdam for a very long coffee break. βπ
There is actually a perfectly good reason.
Dutch β the SEO, designer, webmaster, content creator, coffee drinker, occasional troublemaker and general one-man army behind this website β had to undergo urgent back surgery.
Unfortunately, the recovery is taking a little longer than expected and considerably longer than Dutch would like! So for the moment, (Dutch) in the USA is operating in low gear. New articles, blogs and other goodies will still appear, but we’re going to take things a little slower while Dutch gets himself back together β literally.
π³π± But don’t let that stop you!
While we’re taking a temporary slow-motion approach, there’s something you can do to help:
Spread the word!
Share Dutch in the USA with your Dutch friends and family who have connections to America.
Know an American who loves Dutch culture, Dutch history, Dutch food, Dutch architecture, or simply wonders why Dutch people are so direct?
Send them our way! π
And don’t forget about our Members section, where Dutchies and Dutch-American friends can meet, chat, share stories, discuss all kinds of subjects and, naturally, complain about the price of cheese in America. π§π
π· More than just a website
Dutch in the USA is growing into a place where Dutch people and Dutch enthusiasts can come together.
You’ll find:
π³π± Dutch stories and history
π Blogs and articles
π Useful links
π₯ Social networking
π¬ Chat and discussions
π Dutch-American connections
ποΈ And much more!
So while Dutch is temporarily exchanging his keyboard for a recovery chair, you can help keep the Dutch spirit moving!
Share the website. Tell your friends. Invite your Dutch cousin who moved to California 20 years ago and still complains that American bread isn’t real bread.
You know who they are. π
Thank you for your patience, your support and for sticking with us.
We’ll be back at full Dutch speed eventually.
And knowing the Dutchβ¦
we’ll probably complain about how slow the recovery was once we’re running again. π
Until then, keep spreading the word!
Dutch in the USA β connecting Dutchies, Americans and everyone fascinated by the little country where people ride bicycles, eat enormous amounts of cheese and somehow remain perfectly calm while telling you exactly what they think.
